Tumbleweed Named a Finalist in Four Categories for 2006 SC Magazine Awards

Tumbleweed's MailGate Email Firewall, MailGate Secure Messenger, and Secure Transport Short-listed for the Prestigious Awards

Redwood City, CA – December 2, 2005 – Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:TMWD), a leading provider of email security, managed file transfer, and identity validation appliance and software products, announced today that they have been selected as a finalist in four of SC Magazine’s award categories including: Best Email Security Solution, Best Email Content Filtering Solution, Best Intellectual Property Solution, and Best Security Solution in Healthcare.

Tumbleweed’s MailGate® Email Firewall was selected as a finalist for both the Best Email Security Solution and Best Content Filtering Solution based on its comprehensive inbound and outbound email protection.  Benefits cited include reduction of risk for privacy and security breaches, increased employee productivity and quick and cost-effective installation.

In the Best Intellectual Property category, Tumbleweed’s SecureTransport™ was named as a finalist based on its widespread use in over 20,000 sites around the world including eight of the top ten US banks, for protection of sensitive information.  

MailGate Secure Messenger™ was recognized as a finalist in the Best Security Solution in Healthcare in the Excellence Awards for its ability to enable organizations to meet their own unique email security needs—from compliance with government privacy regulations in Healthcare to enforcing corporate policies and protecting intellectual property.
