Tumbleweed Unleashes MailGate AntiSpam Appliance on the Enterprise

Latest Version Combines Support for Multi-Appliance, High Availability Deployment with Simple, Centralized Management

Redwood City, CA – June 8, 2005 – Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:TMWD), a leading provider of email and file transfer security solutions, today announced the release of MailGate AntiSpam Appliance 2.5, the latest version of Tumbleweed’s award-winning Linux-based security solution. MailGate AntiSpam provides state-of-the-art protection from spam, viruses and other inbound threats through a simple, hardened appliance.

This latest release supports high-availability deployment of multiple cooperating appliances, including automated load balancing, centralized quarantine queues, single sign-on to all of the appliances in the cluster, and shared configuration data.

Unlike competing email security solutions, customers don’t need to purchase an expensive dedicated server for clustered administration. Multi-server deployments are instead managed via Enterprise Manager, a simple-to-use, centralized administration interface running directly on any one of the live primary appliances. Benefits to this approach include:

• Scalable inbound email security – there is no limit to the number of appliances that can participate in a cluster across an extended enterprise
• Reduced operational TCO due to single point-of-administration leveraging shared configuration, policy and queues
