(NASDAQ:TMWD), a leading provider of secure Internet messaging software and appliances for enterprises and government agencies, announced today the 2.1 release of the company’s MailGate, an award-winning Linux based appliance used to fight spam and viruses. The new version of MailGate 2.1 introduces comprehensive anti-virus scanning and blocking capabilities – and an updated anti-spam data set to improve the spam capture rate of the MailGate appliance. Sold as an optional feature set, MailGate Anti-Virus Scanning is powered by the McAfee Olympus Engine. When MailGate Anti-Virus Scanning is enabled, all incoming email is scanned for viruses.
