Tumbleweed offers security expertise dialogue to bring technology to government

(Nasdaq:TMWD), a leading provider of secure content management solutions for enabling the business Internet, today announced that Jeffrey Smith, Tumbleweed Chairman and CEO, will be speaking at Information Technology Association of America's (ITAA) "Developing Cyber Security in the e-Government Era" conference December 11-12 at the Computer Sciences Corporation Executive Briefing Center in Falls Church, Virginia.
This event will include keynote presentations and panel discussions on the topics of cyber security and the next generation Internet, securing e-Government and information security challenges. Government officials, federal agency chief information officers and leaders from the information security industry will be participating. Those government officials include: The Hon. Tom Davis (R-VA), Chairman, House Subcommittee on Technology and Procurement Policy; Hon. Donald Upson, Secretary of Technology, Commonwealth of Virginia; and Jim Flyzik, Acting Assistant Secretary for Management and CIO, U.S. Department of Treasury and Vice Chairman of the Federal CIO Council.

In a separate announcement today, the ITAA announced results from the national poll on America's concern about Internet and computer security, "Keeping the Faith: Government, Information Security and Homeland Cyber Defense." This poll found over 70 percent of Americans concerned about Internet and computer security. In addition, 74 percent of those polled, feared that personal information on the Internet could be stolen or used for malicious purposes. These findings reconfirm the need and heighten awareness for cyber security.
