Tumbleweed's Innovative Messaging Solution Enables High Volume Digital Archiving
REDWOOD CITY, CA - January 18, 2001 - Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:TMWD), a leading provider of mission critical messaging solutions, today announced the release of Tumbleweed Messaging Management System&153; (MMS) Message Monitor 4.7. Tumbleweed's newest messaging management product, MMS Message Monitor 4.7 provides email archiving, monitoring and reporting capabilities that enable brokerage and investment firms to comply with both corporate and regulatory guidelines, such as the SEC's regulations governing archiving email messages.
Six of the top ten brokerage firms in the United States use Message Monitor 4.7 to manage digital archiving, scalability, monitoring and reporting on email traffic. Message Monitor works in conjunction with Tumbleweed MMS to secure, monitor and manage the email communication stream between brokers, partners and customers on the Internet. The new Message Monitor 4.7 increases Message Monitor digital archiving capacity by approximately 60%. With this enhanced capacity, customers who deploy Message Monitor 4.7 can archive over 2 million email messages per workday. Message Monitor also provides an indexed database for quick retrieval of messages, browser-based interface and tiered reviewer structure. This allows supervisors, compliance officers and auditors to review and act on email messages, providing complete visibility into the corporate communication stream.
"Tumbleweed has always made a commitment to be proactive and stay in front of our customers' requirements," said Kerry Champion, Senior Vice President, Product Development, Tumbleweed Communications Corp. "The substantially increased scalability of Message Monitor 4.7 is an important step toward fulfilling that commitment. Another step is continued investment in our products and technology, which includes increasing our budget for research and development spending in 2001 over 2000."
