Tumbleweed Communications Adds Depth to International Management Team
Appointments at Tumbleweed GmbH in Germany and Tumbleweed KK in Japan
REDWOOD CITY, CA - October 26, 2000 - Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:TMWD), a leading provider of secure Internet communications services, today announced the appointment of the new country manager at Tumbleweed GmbH in Germany as well as the new President and Chief Operating Officer of Tumbleweed Communications KK in Japan.
Tumbleweed's new German Country Manager, Mr. Ruediger Werns, brings more 12 years senior management experience to the company. After receiving a Master of Business Administration, Mr. Werns built his career at Nixdorf, Oracle, BMC, Pavillion and Ardent Software where he served as key account manager and managing director. Prior to joining Tumbleweed, Mr. Werns was vice president EMEA at Hummingbird Communications. Mr. Werns reports to Don Taylor, vice president, international, Tumbleweed Communications.
Tumbleweed Communications KK's new President and Chief Operating Officer, Mikio Imai, has more than 25 years of management experience. At IBM-Japan, Mr. Imai played a significant role in international large account sales and in e-business initiatives spanning the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Tumbleweed, Mr. Imai was responsible for e-Commerce Solution Sales for IBM Asia Pacific. Mr. Imai holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Keio University. Mr. Imai reports to Shinji Eura, chairman and CEO of Tumbleweed KK.
