Tumbleweed Launches Secure Online Communications in Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, Australia - March 28, 2000 - Tumbleweed® Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:TMWD), a leading provider of secure Internet communication services, today announced the establishment of its operations in Australia and New Zealand to service the growing demand for secure e business communications in the Asia Pacific Region.

Tumbleweed's Integrated Messaging Exchange (IME) combines a powerful software platform and customised applications to establish a secure Internet communication channel between a business and its customers, suppliers and partners. Tumbleweed WorldSecure is a set of email management services that enable businesses to protect intellectual capital on the Internet. Businesses can set and enforce policies regarding security, distribution, monitoring and archiving of email, to control communication in the digital realm.

Australia/New Zealand regional director, Martyn Bartlett, will lead Tumbleweed's headquarters in Sydney. Bartlett joined Tumbleweed with twenty years experience, gained in marketing and management positions held in both Australia and Europe.
